Key Responsibilities and Clinical Duties
- Greet, educate and support clients from arrival to discharge, and facilitate financial transactions in the exam room
- Obtain vital signs and comprehensive medical histories for patients
- Assist with animal handling, administration of medications and provision of animal husbandry and nursing care
- Take and process diagnostic radiographs (X-rays)
- Collect and process lab samples for analysis (e.g., blood, urine, feces, cytology)
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records including histories, treatments, and medication logs
- Ensure that all equipment is properly operating, maintained and sterilized
- Keep the clinic clean and organized
- Support the veterinarian and RVTs to provide efficient, high-quality patient care
Required Qualifications and Desired Skillsets
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Adhere to the ethical guidelines set by the veterinary profession
- Previous experience in a veterinary setting or animal care
- Basic knowledge of veterinary medical and surgical terminology and techniques
- Proficiency in animal handling and restraint
- Ability to collect and process lab samples for analysis (e.g., blood, urine, feces)
- Willing commitment to foster a confidence-building, collaborative work environment with all teammates
- Disciplined mindset with an eagerness to participate on the clinic floor
- Friendly, proactive and helpful personality
- Mature communication skills, both with clients and within the team
