The last time we had to take one of our dogs in for urgent care, we waited literally 4 hours. My husband found UrgentPaws and we said we would come here instead for the next time something happened. Well that day came this past Sunday. We took our 15 year old Shih Tzu in at 10AM as soon as they opened. We got a room right away and were in and out within an hour . The following day, we even received a follow up in to ask how she was doing. That was the most amazing experience we’ve ever had. So glad they opened so close to us.

I took my cat to Urgent Paws to be seen for an eye and ear concern. I was immediately greeted by Christine (VT) and taken to an exam room. Christine was friendly and welcoming while explaining the services offered, including fees. Dr. Colon examined my sweet boy and was just as friendly and welcoming as Christine. My cat has been known to be slightly skittish during vet visits, but he was calm as could be during the whole process. I appreciated Christine and Dr. Colon explaining each step and answering all of my questions. Amazing service by staff who made it apparent they love their jobs.

I was able to get in same day at Urgent Paws in Rancho Cucamonga when my 7 year old Lab (Cleo) seriously injured her back leg. The customer service and care we received were truly above and beyond anything I could have asked for. The entire staff treated us with such kindness, compassion, and genuine care. They were able to treat Cleo, help us understand the situation, and refer us to an Orthopedic Specialist for the next steps in her treatment. The following day, I received a follow-up call to check on how Cleo was doing, which meant a lot to us. I also received a quick response when I needed her medical records sent over to the Orthopedic Specialist. I would highly recommend Urgent Paws in RC to anyone. thank you so much to the entire staff! We truly appreciate everything you did for our sweet girl! 🩷

I couldn’t get an appointment with my regular vet, so I found UrgentPaws online and was able to get in right away when it was time to say goodbye to my sweet 16½-year-old dog, Stella. From the moment we arrived, the entire staff was kind, compassionate, and respectful. They brought us into a quiet, comfortable room with a couch, soft blankets, and calming music playing in the background. They even offered Stella whipped cream and a Hershey’s Kiss as a special treat. She was too sick to enjoy them, but the gesture was incredibly thoughtful and showed how much they cared. They carefully explained the process, went over the options for her ashes, and even collected payment beforehand so I wouldn’t have to think about that afterward. Although it was one of the hardest days of my life, I’m so grateful for the kindness and compassion they showed Stella and our family. They made sure she was comfortable and at peace, and I’ll always be thankful for the care they gave her in her final moments.

Words cannot express how grateful we are to have found this veterinary clinic. We recently had to say goodbye to my mom’s beloved dog, and the compassion and kindness shown by the entire staff meant a lot to me. They gave us the time, space and support we needed and never made us feel rushed. Grateful for the Dr who came in that day to help us. He was an angel.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Urgent Paws in Rancho Cucamonga! ❤️ When my sweet cat, Nala, needed care, the entire team made what could have been a very scary and stressful experience feel so much more manageable. From the moment we walked in, everyone was incredibly kind, compassionate, and patient. They were so gentle with Nala, who is definitely not a fan of vet visits, and they went out of their way to make her feel comfortable with treats, love, and reassurance. Not only did they take amazing care of my girl, but they also took the time to keep me calm and informed throughout the process. Their kindness and support meant the world to me during such a stressful time. They even helped me utilize Cherry financing, which made it possible for me to get Nala the care she needed without added financial stress. What truly sets Urgent Paws apart is how much they genuinely care about both pets and their owners. They make you feel like a priority and treat your furry family members as if they were their own. Thanks to their exceptional care, Nala is doing so much better, and I am beyond grateful. If you’re looking for a veterinary team that is compassionate, knowledgeable, and truly dedicated to helping animals, I highly recommend Urgent Paws. Thank you for taking such wonderful care of my sweet girl! 🐾💕

Honestly where do I begin, I found this hospital trying to look for immediate attention for my dog they were able to take care of him immediately and were super kind from the moment I walked in, I went alone and was afraid of my dog being uncomfortable the staff reassured me in every which way and made sure everything was budget friendly they recommended me to a vet in rialto and helped with my dog eddie he has been the happiest and healthiest dog ever since. I went to my normal vet for my cat and was made to feel like i was crazy for thinking my cat was sick i thought of this place since they took good care of my dog i went and they took care of my baby even though he was in pain they made sure my cat felt safe especially with the way his normal vet handled him they handled him with such care and compassion the doctor is always so helpful i wish this business all the best in the world because truly i have never felt much safer with my pets then here thank you all for being to welcoming and caring about my furry babies

I had a wonderful experience at Urgent Paws with Dr. Wells. He helped solve my kitty’s vomiting issue which I am so grateful for. Christine was so helpful to call and check in with my kitty as well. Jasmin did a fabulous job with taking her back for X-rays and treatment. They did at this time only necessary tests to help diagnose her problem. I am confident I got the best care at Urgent Paws and so appreciate the super helpful staff and support. Thank you so much!

Wow! Such a wonderful place!! This urgent care place is not an emergency vet but they do urgent care type work!! Their prices are very reasonable given the quality and type of care and services they provide! All I can say is the nurses and doctors make you feel so comfortable and heard when you arrive scared, worried and anxious for your hurt pet!! I brought my cat here the other day after he hurt his leg playing outside and the minute I walked in the door the nurses Jazmin and Christine made us feel welcomed and comfortable. Set us up in a nice room, treated my cat like their own and were always so loving and gentle with him. Doctor “Per Karlsson” was amazing and very thorough, he gave me all the options for care available to him and assured me he was there for any further treatment or questions. I very much recommend Urgent Paw to anyone needing “urgent care” for their fur babies.. their office times are 3pm-11pm!

I had an amazing experience at Urgent Paws. From the moment I arrived, Christine greeted me warmly and reassured me that they were experienced in handling dogs with anxiety, which gave me tremendous peace of mind. Dr. Per was excellent and had wonderful bedside manners. He took the time to clearly explain the procedure and answer my questions, helping me feel confident and informed throughout the process. The entire staff—Christine, Jasmin, and Liz—were amazing, professional, friendly, and supportive. Christine kept me updated on my dog's recovery and even followed up the next day, which I greatly appreciated. Their hours are also perfect for people who work and have pets that may encounter unexpected emergencies outside of regular business hours. I highly recommend Urgent Paws to anyone looking for compassionate, professional, and exceptional veterinary care. This version keeps your enthusiasm while improving the flow, grammar, and readability.

I recently took my dog in for a ruptured mass on her leg and I was so impressed with this place. They immediately jumped up to help me as soon as I walked in and took me and my dog back to a nice, comfortable, private room with soft lighting and soothing music playing. They helped us very quickly and did a great job communicating their treatment plan as well as the cost (which I found to be very reasonable). Everyone working there was exceptionally friendly and kind. I am so glad to have this place close to my home.

Tonight my chihuahua Bruce was having a very scary emergency, and I am so grateful for everyone here. From the second I walked through the door, Verenice immediately jumped into action and was so kind and compassionate during such a stressful moment. Dr. McBride was absolutely amazing. She was incredibly sweet, patient, and thorough, and I could genuinely tell she cared not only about Bruce, but about me too. She spent so much time answering all of my questions and making sure I understood everything going on with Bruce. Sometimes at emergency vet offices it can feel like they only care about the money, but this place was the complete opposite. Every single person on the team showed so much empathy, compassion, and kindness to both me and Bruce. I truly felt supported during a really scary night. Thank you all so much for taking such good care of my baby ❤️

We have nothing but high marks for the staff and doctors here. Our cat got an infected wound on his face and we brought him to UrgentPaws for the first time. Everyone showed great compassion and professionalism. Each evaluation, assessment, and treatment plan was explained clearly. The cost of treatments was transparent. Really happy to have an urgent vet clinic so close to us. Their love and care for animals is genuine. Shoutout to Cristine for two back to back days of wonderful service which put our anxiety at ease. We strongly recommend bringing your pets here for care if needed. Milton the cat also expresses his gratefulness for the care he received. Hopefully not to return soon, however.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to save my spot?

No – walk-ins are always welcome. Save My Spot lets you pick an arrival time online, so we know you are coming and can be ready for your pet. We assess every pet on arrival and see the most critical patients first, so timing can shift if a sicker pet comes in.

Is UrgentPaws Rancho Cucamonga an emergency vet?

We are an after hours veterinary urgent care and treat emergencies that are not life-threatening. This includes vomiting, limping, cuts, ear and eye trouble, skin, urinary problems, and more. For life-threatening emergencies, contact your nearest 24-hour ER.

Can I stay with my pet?

Yes! Our clinic is open to you, including the treatment room. We want you to be as involved in the visit as you would like. In most instances, we find our patients do much better when they are next to their owners. In rare cases, you pet may be better on their own (e.g. they are trying to protect you) and we may ask you to give them some space to ensure they receive the best possible care. In these situations, we will communicate everything to you beforehand.

Do I have to go inside the treatment room?

No – we give our owners the option to come with us into the treatment room or remain in one of our private exam rooms – the choice is yours.

Do you take pet insurance or offer financing?

Yes – we make it easy to pay for the care your pet needs. We accept all major pet insurance plans on a reimbursement basis: you pay at the time of visit, and we’ll provide an itemized invoice and any medical records your insurer needs to process your claim.

We also offer financing through CareCredit and Cherry. Both let you apply in minutes from your phone right in our clinic, so you can find out what you qualify for before treatment begins.

Can you run tests and X-rays on site?

Yes – we run bloodwork, urine and fecal testing, X-rays and ultrasound in the clinic, and we give fluids, injections, wound care and medications on the spot, so most problems are diagnosed and treated in one visit.

What pets do you treat?

We treat dogs and cats. Some of our veterinarians also see exotics such as rabbits, snakes, turtles and lizards. Call us at (840) 256-5301 first and we will confirm that the vet on shift can treat your pet.

When are you open?

Monday to Friday, 3 PM to 11 PM. Saturday, Sunday and holidays, 10 AM to 8 PM. We are open 365 days a year.

Holiday hours apply on the holiday itself, not on the observed weekday. We keep holiday hours on:

  • New Year’s Day
  • Memorial Day
  • Independence Day (July 4th)
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving
  • Christmas Eve
  • Christmas
  • New Year’s Eve
How do I get there?

We are at 7251 Haven Ave Suite A, Rancho Cucamonga, CA 91701.

Next door to Ralphs, off Haven Avenue and Base Line Road.

How should I prepare for my visit?

Use Save My Spot, keep your pet calm and warm, and note when the symptoms started and what has changed. Bring any medications your pet takes, prior records if they are handy, and a stool or vomit sample if that is the problem. Please don’t give human medication; many common ones are dangerous for pets.

What can I expect after my visit?

After your visit, you’ll leave with a written care plan and your regular vet will get a treatment summary.

After treatment, we’ll:

  • Provide a clear care plan and recovery tips
  • Answer your questions and help manage follow-up needs
  • Send a complete medical summary to you and your regular vet to maintain continuity of care
